Who Are You
Who are you that haunt my dreams? Tell me lovely lady What thoughts hide beneath those limpid orbs The bottomless pools in which I drown with pleasure each night Tell me fair princess What words hide behind that dulcet smile That awakens in me yearnings long forgotten Why do you come to me? Why rekindle in me the dreams of another Who has the possession of my heart The winds of memory moan through my soul Sweeping me aside in a flurry of passion and pain Are you she to whom I gave my heart? I do not know what thoughts stir in your mind You come to me in a shroud of mist Bathed in the gold of early dawn Why do you come in search of me? Do you come to bring me that peace I have been aching for? I hear your silent smile as a soft murmer A gentle caress of your tresses Dancing in the breeze I long to touch you, feel you, take you in But you keep moving Bestowing upon me wordless smiles And then you are gone again In a shroud of mist And I am alone again
